He has years of experience project managing and delivering extensive engineering projects in the Oil and Gas and Renewables sectors while working on creative projects alongside racing at a World level in both Downhill and Enduro.

He has been involved in the outdoor industry, mainly through involvement in race teams and producing media and content for publications and brands.

As a Chartered Engineer in the renewables industry he has a passion for working to protect our environment and adapt to reach net zero. Contour continues this passion as a way to share stories and run events that can create change.

If you can’t get hold of Chris, he’s probably on his bike somewhere, he’ll be back soon.

  • Doug Somerville

    Photographer / Videographer

Doug works with Contour and is our photographer/mountain goat and growing videographer. Never afraid to go the extra mile to get the perfect shot and with the incredible ability to never sleep, Doug has been working with us since the start. Doug loves the mountains and is rarely out of them, if he’s not on his bike, he’s scrambling to the top of the mountain top to catch that amazing sunset and for that uncomfortable night sleep in a bivvy bag.

  • Thomas Hogben

    Film Maker/Director

Thomas has worked with Contour before Contour existed. He’s been involved in a number of Contour specific projects and brings close to two decades of film experience. Alongside working with Contour he’s part of Edinburgh Documentary Films.

Thomas is a Scottish based Director of Photography, who specialises in working within Documentary. He studied at BA in Photography & Film Production at Napier University and holds a MSc in Animation and Visualisation from DjCAD.

Tom was one of only 7 chosen for the Scottish Documentary Institute Bridging the Gap Scheme in 2016, and the resulting short documentary film, Teeth, premiered at EIFF and won Best Documentary at the Scottish Short Film Festival as well as screening at Aesthetica, Athens International, and Sebastopol Documentary Festival. From there he DoP’d the BBC Four short documentary Outlying and 30min Our Fathers documentary for BBC Scotland. In 2020, he was commissioned to undertake the experimental art film titled The Soul Of A Statue focusing on the work of renowned Czech glass artist Martin Janecky for exhibition at the Toyama Glass Museum in Tokyo. More recently in 2022 he worked as the DoP for Maurice O’Briens on his latest feature The Artist and the Wall of Death.
